A fire has broke out in a cafe' located on Sosun Magu in Male'.
16:05 - Police have said that two foreigners on the street at the area, a male and a female, have been taken to hospital for treatment due to being affected by smoke.
16:00 - The fire has now been put out. No persons were injured in this incident. The cafe' which caught fire was constructed entirely out of corrugated steel sheets.

15:57 - The cafe', located at Dhoohimerige, is run by expatriates in the ground floor of the building. The top two floors are used for their accommodation.

15:52 - The fire started at the first floor of the three storey Gaamagu Cafe'. The fire has affected the adjacent building as well.
The fire is now being brought under control, but there is thick smoke in the area. Many houses in the vicinity have been vacated.
Fire is still being seen from the floors over the cafe', with it beginning to spread to the building located behind it as well.

A fire has broke out in the kitchen of a cafe' located on Sosun Magu in Male'.
A Media Official from Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that they had received reports of a fire at Dhoohimerige in Henveiru ward at 14:40 hrs today.
It is so far unclear whether there are any persons inside the premises currently on fire.
Videos circulating on social media show thick smoke in the area.
The MNDF Official confirmed that their Fire and Rescue Department are currently attempting to put out the fire.
