The Indian outlaw, who was arrested at Velana International Airport (VIA) on Saturday, has been deported.
According to local media Mihaaru, the man named Sri Nirmaldeep Singh Sidhu, a known fugitive who has gone by multiple monikers including Bodhi Singh in the past, was arrested upon arrival at Maldives' main airport under accusations of being a terrorist.
He was handed over to Indian authorities the same day.
The police declined to comment to media regarding Singh Sidhu's objectives in coming to Maldives.
Media reports state that Singh Sidhu is a member of Hindu nationalist organisation 'Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which had on a number of occasions been banned in India over incidents such as the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi and riots against Muslim communities including the burning of mosques.
According to the media, Singh Sidhu currently uses the title "Sri" in front of his name under the guise of being a Hindu guru. He had recently called on public groups to take up arms under his terror agenda.
He was earlier captured in Mexico as well.
