In Male' alone, 183 residences have been damaged in the torrential rain and flooding today, with residents of three houses having to be relocated due to their residences becoming uninhabitable.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared tomorrow a government holiday with schools and government offices announced closed due to the continued rain and stormy conditions.
In a press statement issued by the Social Ministry tonight, they said that although the government is officially closed, families and persons in need of assistance or protection of families can continue to reach them through calling their hotline.
In the case of child related issues, the hotline 1412 should be contacted. For social and family related issues, the dedicated line is 1421.
The Ministry also said that issues faced due to heavy rains and flooding can be reported directly to Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) through the 115 hotline.
They also called on all to check on family, friends and others during these difficult conditions.
