NDTV Food has featured a special episode focusing on Maldivian gastronomy.

The episode is expected to reach over 130 million households and 20 million individual users via their mobile application, reported Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

The special episode was titled "Food & Flavors from the Sunny Side of Life" referencing the main slogan used by marketers to promote the Maldives.

The episode featured Chef Mohammed Haneef, the Chef de Cuisine at LUX* South Ari Atoll.

According to MMPRC, the 20-minute episode provided introduction into Maldivian cuisines, with details on popular local dishes. The episode also detailed Maldivian food sustainability practices, health benefits from the local cuisine and outdoor cooking experiences as well as fresh farm-to-fork experiences in the country.

Chef Haneef was joined by the Resort Manager of the property Masdhooq Saeed, who spoke on the importance of incorporating sustainable practices into the culinary scene.

The episode was digitally promoted on NDTV, NDTVfood.com and their various social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

NDTV is a pioneer and a leading brand name in news television and digital journalism, with its existence spanning more than 25 years in India.

According to MMPRC, the special NDTV episode will help maintain the destination presence on high-impact channels. Moreover, the episode is expected to promote local cuisine of the country and Maldives as a potential holiday destination for the Indian market - which is already the largest tourist source market to the island nation.

The activity is also aligned with MMPRC's marketing strategies for the Indian market.
