Police has started to investigate Health Protection Agency (HPA) over allegedly selling fake Covid-19 vaccine cards.

Even though police has not disclosed further information.

Rumours had spread in the past alleging that HPA had been selling fake vaccine cards. These allegations are aimed at high ranking officials at HPA.

In addition to the physical Covid vaccination card, a person's vaccination status accessed via the Covid Safe portal made by HPA as well.

Statistics by HPA show that so far 370,986 people have received two doses of the vaccines utilized in Maldives against Covid. An additional 128,890 people have received booster doses as well.
