Two firms to develop sewerage systems in Maldives south

The Maldives government on Thursday awarded projects totalling MVR 244 million to two firms to establish sewerage systems in five of the linked wards of Addu atoll.

The Maldives government on Thursday awarded projects totalling MVR 244 million to two firms to establish sewerage systems in five of the linked wards of Addu atoll.

The Ministry of Environment and Energy awarded the projects to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and Sierra Construction of Sri Lanka. Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, MTCC’s CEO Ibrahim Ziyath and Sierra’s Projects Director P.W. Tillakaratne signed the agreements at a special ceremony held in SHE Building in capital Male.
