Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Tuesday revealed that the commission investigated around 200 cases related to judges within the past two months.
According to a statement released by JSC, these cases were investigated after amendments were brought to the Judicial Service Act.
The statement also revealed that the cases included corruption, sexual harassment and using undue influence of their position.
JSC stated that the commission is investigating all the cases according to their guidelines, further assuring that no measures would be taken beyond their jurisdictions.
Furthermore, the commission assured that they will only investigate disciplinary cases, and not the cases lodged against verdicts delivered by the judges.
JSC is currently probing into multiple judges, including some justices of the Supreme Court. Notably, a second case involving Chief Justice Dr Ahmed Abdulla Didi is currently under investigation as well.
