Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) said they have ongoing projects in 31 islands to install water and sewerage systems in them.

The company said they have been playing a big role in fulfilling one of the vows the government made, which was to develop sewerage systems in islands regardless of the size of the population of the island.

These projects include 23 islands where they are installing water and sewerage systems. An additional six islands will be getting a water system installed while two islands will have sewerage systems installed.

While several projects are still ongoing, a number of projects have been completed as well, MWSC said, including the water system of Alif Alif Rasdhoo and the sewerage system of Lhaviyani Kurendhoo. These projects will ensure over 3,000 households will get proper water and sewerage services.
