Bank of Maldives (BML) on Sunday revealed booked needed by the Fuvahmulah Library were donated under 'Aharange Bank' Community Fund.
Through this initiative, over 400 books, suited for various age groups were donated. In addition to both English and Dhivehi, books on religious topics and texts books for A'Level students were included as well.

Speaking on the successful completion of the project, Fathimath Rasheed who won the Community Fund said that prior to this there was a lack of access to books as the island did not have a library or a fully equipped bookstore.
She noted that there are 2465 students in different grades are as well as over 500 college students completing their education on the island.
"Our aim was to provide all studetns access to books that they needed to gain more information as part of their studies."
Introduced in 2019, Community Fund is a program intended to empower individuals and NGOs to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects.
Overall, BML has now provided funding for projects in 40 islands across the country.
