Maldives Police Service, on Tuesday, arrested a 31-year-old man on the suspicion of kidnapping Shirumeena Aboobakr.
The police made a public announcement regarding Shirumeena's status as a missing person on November 1, requesting any person with information regarding her whereabouts to come forward.
According to her family, she was found unconscious in the stairwell of her house on November 2. The family asserts that she was abducted, kidnapped and robbed of MVR 25,000.
After she was found, Shirumeena was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment as there were various bruises and cuts across her body.
The police are conducting further investigations into the case.
