In the forthcoming parliamentary elections slated for April 21st, Nishama Mohamed, a candidate representing the Jumhooree Party (JP) in the Dhandhoo constituency, has relinquished her candidacy and opted to endorse Mohamed Fazeel, the candidate from the incumbent government's party.

In a recent announcement accompanied by a photograph depicting her handshake with the PNC candidate, Nishama expressed gratitude to JP leader Qasim Ibrahim for giving her the opportunity to vie for the Dhandhoo constituency.

JP council member Nishama conveyed appreciation for the support, respect, and cooperation extended by the public during her brief campaigning period.

Nishama, who also served as a deputy minister during the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, remarked on the significant financial investment and formidable effort requisite for electoral success. She lamented the constraints of limited time and resources, expressing skepticism regarding the attainment of desired outcomes.

While the candidate initially nominated to contest for the Dhandhoo constituency withdrew from the race and opted to endorse the candidate from the ruling party instead, Mohamed Abdul Qadir (commonly known as Kooku), who secured victory in the primary for the PNC ticket in Machangoalhi Central constituency, has chosen to throw his support behind independent candidate Ahmed Zameer. Notably, Kooku was present at the opening of Zameer's campaign hub last evening.
