Bank of Maldives (BML), on Monday, opened applications for proposals in the seventh round of its 'Aharenge Bank' Community Fund, a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to contribute to society by conducting sustainable community projects.

We’ll be selecting 10 community-based projects to receive MVR 50,000 each to support in the areas of education, environment, sports and community development.

BML will select and allocate MVR 50,000 to ten projects in the areas of education, environment, sports and community development under the Aharenge Bank Community Fund.
For 2020, BML is selecting 20 projects across three proposal phases, and has set the phase three deadline for November 21.
The bank has already awarded ten projects during its first and second phase, including projects to develop an outdoor gym in Vilufushi, Thaa Atoll.
In 2019, BML contributed MVR 1 million to support projects in 20 islands, including the Nellaidhoo Community Park, refurbishment of the library in Maaenboodhoo, Dhaalu Atoll, a children's park in Kihaadhoo, Baa Atoll and a classroom for Special Education Needs (SEN) students in Gaafaru, Kaafu Atoll.
