Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’ opened a Flu Clinic on Friday, and requests for people with flu symptoms to visit the clinic.
IGMH said they have arranged for people with flu like symptoms to consult a doctor at their flu clinic, and requests all sick persons to visit there for their services.
The flu clinic will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
There has been a recent surge in Covid cases in Maldives as well. IGMH had previously operated a flu clinic when covid numbers had been high.
Statistics released by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show that the number of cases of common flu has also increased compared to last year.
According to the latest information released by HPA, 13,361 had consulted a doctor last month after contracting the common cold. While 185 people were infected with dengue, 1,824 people were treated for dengue.
