Local telecommunications giant Ooredoo Maldives wrapped up a weekend of "fun-filled activities" as their renowned 'Color Run' 2019 came to an end on Saturday, in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale'.
The Ooredoo Color Run is a five-kilometre run which is open solely for applicants over the age of six. For each kilometre during the run, participants will be rewarded with a burst of colour powder at the ‘Color station’.
As a non-timed event, runners may walk, jog or run to the finish line, where their efforts are celebrated with colour throws, finisher medals and a music show.
In addition, the run features awards for the ‘Most Entertaining Runner’ and the “Runner with the Best Costume’, along with special prizes for podium finishes.
As a new entry into the Color Run activities, Ooredoo introduced ‘Moodhu Ufaa’ (which loosely translates to ‘Ocean Fun’), involving events such as tug rope, a sand art competition, a bucket relay and a marble hunt.
Similar to previous instalments, Ooredoo celebrated the weekend festivities with a kite festival ‘Gudi Mahaasama’, which involves a kite crafting workshop and a competitive ‘Bols Race’.
This was the second Ooredoo Color Run held in 2019, with the first one held in Addu City during June.
