Three Maldivian women injured in Cochin accident in critical condition

Three Maldivian women suffered serious injuries in a road accident in Cochin, India this morning and are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The victims are a 25-year-old woman, her 50-year-old mother, and her 54-year-old aunt, all from Raa atoll Alifushi.

The husband of one of the victims, who was injured in the accident about 40 km from KIMS Hospital, told 'Mihaaru News' that the accident took place on their way back to Trivandrum after going to see a doctor at a hospital near Cochin.

The accident occurred at 23:30 hrs when the driver stopped the car on one side of the highway, and a car coming from the opposite side collided into the vehicle.

All three victims sustained various injuries in the accident. The 25-year-old woman sustained injuries to her face, while her mother suffered a broken leg and facial injuries, according to the victims' family. He said that the aunt had also suffered injuries to her face and had passed out at the time of the accident.

The three were rushed to the hospital, and surgery on the mother-daughter duo has now begun. While a decision has not been made for the aunt, all three are in critical condition, he said.
