Club Eagles, last year's runners-up, solidified their lead in the standings with a 2-1 victory over TC Sports. After participating in 11 matches, the Eagles stand atop the table with 29 points, holding a three-game advantage over second-placed Maziya, who secured 22 points in their recent match. A victory against United Victory on Sunday could narrow the gap to just four points between Maziya and the Eagles.

The initial half of the game saw the Eagles dominating the National Football Stadium, launching consecutive attacks with numerous open chances. Despite their efforts, Sri Lanka’s Captain Goalkeeper Sujan Perera thwarted most of the Eagles' assaults, even defending one-on-one situations. However, when the Eagles finally took the lead, Sujan found himself in a challenging position. Ibrahim Mahdi Hussain directed the ball toward the center of the net, and although it was fielded, Sujan was unable to prevent the goal.

In the second half, TC Sports shot numerous attempts until Zayn Naseer equalized in the 54th minute. Nevertheless, the Eagles regained the lead as Ahmed Rizwan, who previously scored a boundary, was dismissed for a duck from a corner.

Despite having a prime opportunity to level the scores, TC faced a setback when Hasan Inaz was sent off for a foul in the Eagles' area. Although sent back to the pavilion, the left-arm pacer Mohamed Shafiu required on-field treatment, causing some controversy as the bench complained about time-wasting when Shafiu went down on the field without contact from another player.
