Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Mus'ab Abdulla, was dismissed from post on September 10.
He was suspended since May 29 in connection to a probe being conducted by the Civil Service Commission. His termination came after his suspension was extended to five years.
Mus'ab revealed to local media Mihaaru that he was dismissed over a tweet he posted, in response to a Twitter user who accused Mus'ab and the Islamic Ministry of theft.
Mus'ab posted his reply along with part of a report the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) released, following a case filed against him. The report was also published on ACC's website.
However, CSC commenced its probe accusing Mus'ab of disclosing confidential information about the state.
Mus'ab declared that he will take his termination to court next week Sunday.
