The government of Maldives expressed deep shock and concern over the reports of multiple explosions in Sri Lankan capital Colombo on Sunday.
In a statement strongly condemning the "cowardly acts of terrorism", Maldives declared that it stands shoulder to shoulder with the government and people of Sri Lanka during this difficult time of national crisis and grief.
The statement extended heartfelt condolences and prayers, on behalf of the government and people of Maldives, for everyone affected by the heinous attacks.

Explosions in three churches and three hotels in and around the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo early Sunday resulted in hundreds of injuries and deaths. The Maldivian community strongly condemned the attacks and extended condolences to the victims.
