Civil Aviation Authority has started an investigation into the accident yesterday where a TMA seaplane met with an accident after its wing float detached while coming in to land.

The authority said that a seaplane that travelled from Baa atoll Seaside Finolhu resort to Westin Maldives Miriandhoo in the same atoll had sustained damage to its right wing float while landing at around 15:30 hrs yesterday.
The seaplane is a DHC Dash 6 boat that has the capacity to carry 11 passengers.
No passengers or crew members received any physical injuries in the accident. The baggage and other goods carried in the plane also were not damaged.
The Authority said that it is currently conducting further investigations into the accident.
