Local table tennis star, Fathimath Dheema Ali has clinched the Table Tennis Association Cup for the second consecutive time following her first experience in the tournament last year.
Dheema had triumphed over Aishath Rafa Nazim - her most challenging opponent in the local scene - to clinch victory in the finals and claim the champions title.
The accomplished star also secured the U19 Championship where she battled with Malaak Binthi Muizzu in the age group finals. She, together with her partner, Ahyar Ahmed Khalid also contributed to claiming victory in the mixed doubles finals against pair Zeek Hassan Latheef and Minha Mahjoob Shujau.
The Men's Championship in the Opens category was triumphed by the reigning runner-up, Moosa Munsif Ahmed.
He earned his victory after defeating a Sri Lankan national, Rasika Manoj and also went on to claim the doubles event together with renowned table tennis legend, Ali Adam Manik (Thaalhafili Alibe). The two were matched with seasoned athletes, Ahyar and Ibrahim Auzam Azeem in the finals.
Alongside Rafa, Munsif also clinched the open mixed doubles event, securing a commendable win against Dheema and Ahyar's pair.
The National TT Tournament is scheduled to take place following the Association's Cup, after which this year's season will conclude.
