Parliament's Public Accounts Committee has directed the Audit Office to conduct special audits on four agencies.
The Public Accounts Committee, which met on December 12, Tuesday, included auditing the City Council, Airport Expansion Project, Urbanco, and FAM under the audit office's purview.
Football Association of Maldives (FAM) is currently undergoing an audit, and the police are also investigating the agency's case.
The Public Accounts Committee has decided to conduct four such audits under the powers vested in it.
With these audits, the number of special audits scheduled for next year will rise to nine.
In addition to the special audit, there will be 294 finance compliance audits, 39 audit reviews, four performance audits, and four information systems audits next year.
The Audit Office has been allocated a budget of MVR 112.2 million for next year.p
