The government of Maldives, on Tuesday, issued a statement strongly condemning the attack on Saudi Arabia's Abha International Airport on June 23.
According to state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA), "a terrorist attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia took place at Abha International Airport" resulted in the death of "a Syrian national" and the wounding of "seven civilians".
The circular released by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maldives iterated the state's commitment to work closely with the international community to find peaceful solutions to conflicts across the region and fight against global terrorism.
Moreover, while reaffirming its solidarity with the "brotherly" people of Saudi Arabia, the ministry conveyed its sincerest condolences to families of the victim and wished for a speedy recovery of the injured.
On June 14, the same airport was struck by another attack, wounding 26 people.
