Maldives Customs Service, on Sunday, issued a statement announcing the search for an illegally imported shipment of 'Ryder’ cigarettes.
Customs has notified all the retailers already marketing Ryder cigarettes to inform the authorities of their activities, and warned legal action against retailers who violate these guidelines.
According to Customs, the cigarette packs imported by Acute Holdings Pvt. Ltd have health warnings printed in Thaana on each individual packs.
In Maldives, companies must obtain a special license to import a limited quantity of cigarette packs.
