ADK seeks Public Accounts Committee help to recover funds owed by the government

As of October 2023, the government owes ADK Hospital MVR 144,376,112. The hospital asked for the committee's help in recovering MVR 78,555,528, which has been outstanding for over 90 days.

ADK Hospital has requested assistance from the parliament's Public Accounts Committee to recover MVR 144 million owed by the government at the end of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration.

In a letter to the committee, the Maldives' largest private hospital stated that despite submitting bills for services provided to government institutions and under the Aasandha universal healthcare scheme and National Social Protection Agency (NSPA), it has not received payments for several months.

As of October 2023, the government owes ADK Hospital MVR 144,376,112. The hospital asked for the committee's help in recovering MVR 78,555,528, which has been outstanding for over 90 days.

The letter was sent to the parliament's Public Accounts Committee in November last year. Today, the committee decided to send a letter to ADK Hospital to clarify the amount of money it has received and the amount still owed.

The committee also discussed a letter regarding Vaavu atoll council not receiving rent from the Vaavu atoll shop. The committee reviewed three other similar cases during the meeting.
