A dedicated prayer area, complete with separate spaces for men and women and facilities for performing ablution (Wudhu), has been established at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) with support from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
A special area dedicated for prayers has been established at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).
In a social media post on platform X, Minister of Islamic Affairs Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed stated that the prayer area established at CHSE was developed with the aim of providing students with a dedicated space for performing prayers.
The Minister added that the area, established with financial assistance from the Ministry, offers ample space for prayers and is equipped with facilities for performing Wudhu, a ritual cleansing performed by Muslims before prayer.
Zuhudul Haqqu (Zuhud), Principal of CHSE, mentioned that the newly built area, featuring separate spaces for males and females, has the capacity to accommodate up to 30 students simultaneously.
The space was inaugurated by Minister of Education Ismail Shafeeu during the school's 45th anniversary celebrations.
While some schools have dedicated prayer rooms, others conduct prayers inside classrooms.
CHSE, which has over a thousand students enrolled at the school had established a new building in Hulhumale' and commenced studies in the middle of 2023.
