The Plant-a-Tree event by the bank falls under the government's initiative to plant 5 million trees.
Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) collaborated with Clean Maldives to organize the event. Partners for the event were Housing Development Corporation, MTCC, Asia Forwarding, EyeCare, Maldives Police Service and Hawks Pvt Ltd.
MIB said that students of Ghiyasuddeen School and their parents had also participated in the planting of these trees.
Speaking at the launching of the event, MIB CEO Mufaddal Idris Khumri urged participants to consider protection of the environment as a personal responsibility.
MIB organizes many activities under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
