Remand extended for the 17 year old boy arrested in connection to the murder of a 13 year old boy by the Juvenile Court on Wednesday.
The body of the 13 year old boy was found in Hulhumale sea, an area accessible to the public on the early morning hours of June 22. Police started searching for him two days prior to that when his family recorded him as being kidnapped.
The 17 year old was arrested on June 22, and his remand was set for 15 days. However, it has now been extended by an additional 13 days.
A 27 year old man was also arrested over this case. Criminal Court decided he is to be held under police custody until the hearing for this case ends.
This case is still being investigated by he police. The child's body has been sent to India so that a postmortem can be conducted.
