The Criminal Court has extended by another fifteen days the remand of the Indian domestic worker arrested on allegations of physically assaulting a child in her care.
The accused is a 22 year old Indian female, Sandeep Kaur.
She was arrested on October 26 and placed on a fifteen day remand. Brought to court as the end of this duration nears, the court decided to extend the remand period.
As per the court order, the suspect has admitted that she did physically assault the child.
She, however, accused her employers of physical assault against her, and of forcing her to do work even when unwell.
She further alleged that in response to her requests to return back to India, the employer had retorted by stating she will never be allowed to go back.
She is being charged with physically assaulting a child. The court order said that the submitted video evidence is enough to substantiate the case.
