One individual injured in a road accident in capital Male' City last night is in critical condition and is currently on ventilator support.
Police said that they received reports of an accident around 00:53 hrs last night, when a car and motorcycle crashed on the corner of Boduthakurufaanu Magu and Koimalaa Hin'gun.
The injured is a 21 year old male who had been driving the motorcycle. He is currently receiving treatment for injuries at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
An IGMH official said today that the victim is currently on ventilator support, declining from providing further details.
Photos of the accident circulating on social media show that the accident occurred when a motorcycle coming on the marine drive, Boduthakurufaanu Magu, collided with a taxi that was turning into Koimalaa Hin'gun.
The photos show that the front of the motorcycle was severely damaged in the crash.
Police are conducting further investigations into this accident.
