A man has been detained in connection with a robbery at Finland International School in addition to the assault of a police officer.
A man has been detained in connection with a robbery at Finland International School in addition to the assault of a police officer.
Authorities reported that the men broke into the school on Saturday morning, stealing laptops from the classrooms before moving on to the nearby NCIT building. The officer on duty at the time attempted to intervene.
During the incident, the officer was attacked and beaten. Following his complaint, one of the two attackers was arrested by court order. The suspect has been identified as Mohamed Naushad, 42, from N. Miladhoo, Sosange.
Naushad has been remanded in custody for 15 days, pending further investigation.
Out of the three laptops stolen from the school, two have been recovered. Another individual is still being sought in connection with the crime.
CCTV footage capturing the theft has been presented to the court.
