Vice President Hussain stressed the importance of integrity and honesty for the country's development.
Integrity and honesty are crucial aspects of sustaining national progress and success, said Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef in his speech last night at the inauguration of the digitised platform for Corruption Risk Self-Assessment Toolkit developed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
Speaking at the ceremony held at Umar Zahir Building, the Vice President said that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has implemented concrete measures to curb corruption since assuming office in November 2023. He recalled President Muizzu's inaugural address on November 17th, where he assured his commitment to ending the government's influence on the judiciary.
In his speech, Vice President Hussain also encouraged the ACC to prioritise awareness programmes for the public and school children alongside their efforts to investigate corruption related crimes.
During the ceremony, the Vice President also inaugurated the Corruption Risk Self-Assessment Toolkit and presented the "service award" to two-long serving employees of the Commission.
Both employees had served ACC for 30 years.
