State Trading Organization (STO), on Tuesday decreased the prices of petrol and diesel by 20 laari (MVR 0.20) per litre and 10 laari (MVR 0.10) per litre respectively.
STO slashed fuel prices in response to similar price cuts in the world market for fuel.
Changes to petrol-diesel rates, effective from Tuesday are:
- Petrol increased from MVR 11.39 to MVR 11.19 per litre.
- Diesel increased from MVR 12.09 to MVR 11.99 per litre.
STO had increased the price of petrol and diesel by 42 laari (MVR 0.42) and 66 laari (MVR 0.62) respectively on October 21.
