Ooredoo urges customers to pay Zakat via m-Faisaa

Telecom giant Ooredoo Maldives announced that they will continue to enable customers to use of their m-Faisaa on Ooredoo application to make Fitr zakat payments for the month of Ramadan to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in 2020.

According to a press release by Ooredoo, in 2019, this feature was first enabled, allowing customers to make zakat payments from their homes.

The company urged its customers to remain home during the ongoing global pandemic and utilize available digital services.

Zakat payment process via m-Faisaa:

1. Log in to m-Faisaa

2. Select 'Fitr Zakat' from m-Faisaa services

3. Select type of rice/flour

4. Enter payer details anf confirm payment and

All payments for Fitr zakat must be completed before 1800 hours on May 21.

Ooredoo revealed that in addition to zakat payments, m-Faisaa has also established partnerships with multiple foundations to provide customers with the opportunity to make donations. Some of these foundations include Cancer Society, Maldives Deaf Associaton, Kudakudhinge Hiyaa and Fiyavathi.

The company welcomed customers of all networks to use m-Faisaa to make payments for services such as utilities, cooking gas deliveries, payments to restaurants and shops as well as money transfers to friends and family.

New customers can download the Ooredoo App and sign up for m-Faisaa.
