Transferring Regional Airports to be under the oversight of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) is on the agenda for today's cabinet meeting.
This was announced in a video message shared by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu ahead of today's cabinet meeting.
The President said that discussions will be held in today's cabinet meeting to see how Regional Airports and MACL can be merged. Also on the agenda is discussions on transferring Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) under Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and merging Maldives Fund Management Corporation and Business Center Corporation (BCC), he said.
In last Sunday's cabinet meeting, a decision was reached to run Fenaka Corporation as a subsidiary of STO. The government now aims to complete this transfer by January 1.
Merging possible government companies has been an aim of President Muizzu, with efforts to do so commencing last week.
The President said that in order to diversify the economy, introduction of an 'Investor Residency Program' will also be discussed in today's cabinet meeting, noting that the same is done elsewhere, including Dubai.
