Meraki Coffee Roasters was ranked 25th under Big 7 Travel Guide's list of Best Coffee Shops In Asia.

Big 7 Travel Guide assigned the ranking on the basis of audience surveys, reader suggestions and editorial team reviews.

"We are very happy and humbled to have received this recognition for the hard work and passion we put into our craft", stated Meraki Manager Mutamid Rasheed.

"Our dream has always been to create a Maldivian brand and to build a franchise around it", he stated and expressed gratitude for the support displayed by Meraki's customers.

The manager also revealed intentions to expand operations, noting that the expansion plans were expected to reach fruition in early 2021.

"I definitely feel the pressure of maintaining the quality and the experience of our brand, however, we are optimistic in continuing to elevate your experience at Meraki".

While coffee is graded from 0-100 based on the number of defects or foreign matter present, the size of the beans and moisture content, Meraki exclusively offers beverages in the ‘specialty coffee’ range of above 80 in grade, in contrast to the average grading found in the commercial market.

Meraki also maintains a policy of purchasing fair trade, sustainable and ethically sourced green beans from across nine countries, which are subsequently roasted in-house.

Established in April 2015 by Mabrouq Azeez, Meraki is the first commercial specialty coffee roaster in Maldives.
