Permanent Secretaries serving at all Ministries have been ordered to provide their full cooperation to President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during the inter-government transition phase.
In a meeting held with the Permanent Secretaries on Sunday, the President of the Civil Service Commission Dr.Shaheem guaranteed full effort of the Commission to ensure a smooth transition of power.
In addition to significant areas of concern requiring the cooperation of all Permanent Secretaries during the transition period, the meeting also included discussions over legal responsibilities within the period.
The President-Elect appointed Ahmed Latheef (Seaweed Latheef) as the Director General of Transition (DGT) on Monday.
The DGT is legally obligated to provide the President-Elect with a team of experts, a workspace and to cover his living expenses upon request.
President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Saturday appointed Henveiru (Northwest) MP Abdulla Shahid to lead the transitional efforts for the new government.
