Ooredoo Maldives partnered with Swim Maldives to conduct 'Fathaalamaa' Swimming Camps across the Maldives, teaching young people proper swimming techniques including safety measures and procedures for emergency scenarios.

The Fathaalamaa Swimming Camps were officially inaugurated at the opening ceremony of Baa Crawl Swimming Event in Baa Atoll by Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed, Director of Sales and Brand at Ooredoo Maldives Hussain Niyaz and Founder of Swim Maldives Hussain Shameem.

The first batch of swimming camps will be held in a number of islands across Baa Atoll, including Eydhafushi, Maalhos, Dharavandhoo, Dhonfanu, Kihaadhoo, Kudarikilu and Kendhoo during the Swim Maldives Baa Crawl, throughout the first week of February.

Additional camps have been planned in various regions in the Maldives, throughout the year.

“In a country that’s surrounded by sparkling seas, it is imperative that our children are proficient in swimming. Similarly, we must pave opportunities for young people who are interested in competitive swimming, encouraging them to achieve their dreams", said the Director of Sales and Brand.

Shameem stated that “Ooredoo's Fathaalamaa Program is a much needed one to teach our young children basic safety measures when swimming or in any body of water. We're excited to partner with them to conduct the program in various regions of the Maldives,"

The swimming camp also demonstrates competitive swimming skills and encourages young people to participate in the professional swimming sector.

"..hope our efforts encourage a new generation of competitive swimmers from across the nation”, said Shameem.
