Dhiraagu launches Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro in Maldives

Local telecom giant Dhiraagu launched Huawei’s flagship smartphone series, the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro to the Maldivian market on Friday.

The two smartphones were launched at a special ceremony held at Dhiraagu Head Office by the Digital Transformation Director Mohamed Musad.

Customers who pre-ordered the phones were handed their new phones during the ceremony.

Dhiraagu is selling the 128GB variant of the Mate 20 Pro for MVR 15,999, while the Mate 2 will be sold for MVR 10,999.

Currently, Dhiraagu offers a 12-month contract for customers looking to secure the phone on an instalment basis.

The instalment on the Mate 20 has an advance payment of MVR 2,999 and a monthly fee of MVR 988. The Mate 20 Pro has a pre-payment of MVR 2,999 and a monthly fee of MVR 1,148.

Dhiraagu is offering 5 Gigabytes of free data for the first six months following the purchase of the phone. The telecommunications company is also offering a free smart flip cover for both the Mate 20s and an additional wireless charger for the Mate20 Pro, while stocks last.

The Mate 20 series boasts Leica's new triple camera setup, a fingerprint sensor, 3D face recognition and reverse wireless charging. The series is powered by the world's first seven-nanometer AI chipset.

Mate 20 comes in midnight blue and black while Pro version comes in twilight, black and emerald green.
