Soneva, the company which owns eco-luxury resorts Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani, announced that the company will soon unveil a new 10-seater seaplane for guest transfers.

The luxury seaplane is currently journeying from Canada across Greenland to Iceland, flying above Europe and the Middle East, and will descend in the Maldives on Sunday.

The company is confirmed that the plane will be brought through IKHANA Group, based in Canada.

The DHC-6 Twin Otter, which normally seats 19, has been modified by IKHANA to only seat 10 people.

The new plane will provide Soneva guests roundtrip transportation from Velana International Airport (VIA) to Soneva Fushi in Baa Atoll and Soneva Jani in Noonu Atoll of the Maldives.

The cost of a roundtrip transfer is set as USD 1100.

The plane's exterior is painted purple and features Soneva's branding, while the interior boasts chrome and purple leather seatings.

According to a senior official from Soneva, the company is scheduled to commence operations during mid-December.

Furthermore, the official stated that the seaplane will be maintained and operated by Maldives leading seaplane operator, Trans Maldives Airways (TMA).
