Local telecom giant Dhiraagu introduced its high speed fibre broadband and Internet Protocol television (IPTV) services in Gaafu Dhaal’s Thinadhoo on Wednesday.
Following the launch, Dhiraagu commenced a special promotion offering broadband connections and JoyBoxes for Dhiraagu TV free of charge.
Dhiraagu also held a draw amongst the visitors that participated in the launching ceremony. The winner was awarded a 55-inch television, a fibre broadband package, and Dhiraagu TV services free for three months. The company also drew four other winners who received the free broadband package and Dhiraagu TV.
Dhiraagu TV currently has over 80 channels, including several HD channels in English and Hindi. According to the company, the service also boasts Disney channels, which were recently introduced in the Maldives.
Dhiraagu offers its IPTV services for a monthly fee of MVR 300.
It currently provides fibre broadband to the greater Male region and 39 islands across the archipelago.
