Local telecom giant Dhiraagu introduced its high speed fibre broadband and Internet Protocol television (IPTV) services in Gaafu Alif’s Villingili on Tuesday.

Following the launch, Dhiraagu commenced special promotions in Villingili, offering broadband connections without charges, and free JoyBoxes for Dhiraagu TV. Dhiraagu will also hold a draw amongst customers that apply for the services before the end of this month, with the winner to receive a 55-inch television and Dhiraagu TV services free for one year.

Dhiraagu TV currently has over 80 channels, including several HD channels in English and Hindi. According to the company, the service also boasts Disney channels, which were recently introduced in the Maldives.

Dhiraagu offers its TV services for a monthly fee of MVR 300.

The company had previously launched its high speed fibre broadband and TV services in Haa Dhaal Atoll’s Kulhudhuffushi and some islands of Lhaviyani Atoll.

It currently provides fibre broadband to the greater Male region and 38 islands across the archipelago.
