BML to introduce MobilePay in Maldives

Maldives main bank is to introduce MobilePay for the first time in the Maldives, allowing customers to make payments via their mobiles without the need for credit cards.

A novel service in the Maldives, Bank of Maldives (BML) launched MobilePay in a special ceremony held at Champa Central Hotel late Tuesday.

The new service requires customers to download the special MobilePay application to their smartphones. Mihaaru understands that customers are to link all of their cash cards under their name to the app, after with which they can make automatic payments from their accounts by holding their mobiles to POS systems.

The application is compatible with both Android and iOS.

With the technology of one of Sri Lanka’s leading technology firms Epic Technology Group, BML’s MobilePay service will be available at most POS systems of the bank.
