The Maldivian Red Crescent is
teaming up with First National to develop its land. They signed an
agreement that will ensure the Red Crescent's humanitarian work can continue sustainably in the future.
This development project, covering
everything from planning and financing to construction, will be a joint effort
between the two parties.
This project is the first of its
kind in the Maldives to be implemented under a Blended Finance Model, aimed at
promoting social work for the benefit of public, private, and community
interests.

Following the signing ceremony,
which took place at Maagiri Hotel; First National CEO Hassan Ziyath
stated that the project lays the groundwork for humanitarian work in the
Maldives to proceed sustainably. He added that First National is extremely
proud to have been given the opportunity to work on such a significant project.
At the ceremony, Maldivian Red
Crescent President Ali Nashid stated that this is a project that the Maldivian Red Crescent has
been coordinating for many years. He expressed MRC's hope that the
project's progress will pave the way for expanding the services and activities
the organization provides, and enable the sustainable operation of programs
focused on disaster response, disaster preparedness, and building resilient
communities.
This project is the largest in
Maldivian history to be undertaken for the development of the Maldivian Red
Crescent's special facilities.
