National airline Maldivian has officially opened their Engineering Service Building at Velana International Airport.
The building was officially inaugurated yesterday by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen.
The three storey building is equipped with facilities to provide engineering services to flights. The building has office space, spares needed for aircrafts and will also facilitate quality, safety and security related services.
The building is named in memory of the late Ali Firaq, who earlier served as Director of Engineering at the airline.
Previously, engineering solutions were provided in different spaces at various buildings in Velana International Airport.
Now, with all technical services available under the same roof, efficiency and convenience will be increased, alongside inventory and logistics processes, the airline said.
In addition to their own fleet, Maldivian also provides maintenance services to other airlines.
