The Young Entrepreneurship Fair, organized by the Children's Ombudsperson’s Office in collaboration with Dhiraagu, received positive response from the public.
The event was designed to highlight the talents and creativity of children while giving them a platform to experience business firsthand.
A total of 51 children participated, running 24 unique stalls that featured a range of offerings from food items and handmade crafts including crotchet products to mental health apps and books authored by the children.
The fair reflected the diversity and innovation of young minds stepping into entrepreneurship.
"Providing such opportunities to children is key to developing their skills and building self-confidence. I am incredibly proud of the talent showcased, as this event truly celebrated their creativity," said Children's Ombudsperson Niumath Shafeeq.
In preparation for the event, an information session was held for all participants and their parents. During this session, three small and home business owners shared their experiences, offering valuable insights into entrepreneurship.
Additionally, participants received guidance on financial literacy and how to use Dhiraagu Pay.
A special session on safe internet use was also conducted for both children and parents.
Dhiraagu’s Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility, Bishaara Hameed, expressed the company’s pride in supporting the initiative.
“One of the key goals of our CSR program is to raise awareness on entrepreneurship, digital literacy, and online safety. We are committed to developing the skills needed to help the next generation build a bright and secure future,” she said.
Dhiraagu remains engaged in empowering young people and continues to lead initiatives that foster the growth of future generations.
