Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives (FHAM), the largest hospitality event in the nation, celebrated the successful completion of this year’s exhibition, which brought new focus to the hospitality industry of the Maldives.

FHAM 2017 was organized by Dhivehi Expo Services in conjunction with CDC Events & Travels Pvt Ltd and was held August 7 – 10 in Dharubaaruge convention centre in capital Male City.

The only event endorsed by the Chefs’ Guild of Maldives and the Chefs’ Guild of Sri Lanka, FHAM provides an extensive platform that brings together investors, tour operators, buyers and developers from renowned resorts and hotels across the Maldives.

In addition to the exhibition, FHAM included events such as the Culinary Challenge, Barista Competition, Mocktail Championship, Bed-Making and Decorating Competition, and Industrial Seminar and Business Gathering.

Dhivehi Expo described the fair as a major step in boosting regional tourism and in bringing the island nation to international spotlight, while contributing to the economy of the Maldives, creating jobs and bringing in foreign investment to the sector.

“A forum such as this brings a wealth of opportunity for owners, managers and suppliers in terms of connecting with each other, meeting new contacts, generating business but also for gaining essential insight and knowledge share, and FHAM is pleased to be a part of it,” said Dhivehi Expo Services’ Managing Director Mohamed Ajmal.

“The new show provides a platform for local and international hospitality industry to come together here, in Maldives, to discuss future opportunities as well as challenges. It will bring a renewed energy and focus on this exceptional continent.”

The principal sponsor for FHAM 2017 was Lily International while Nestle Professional was the platinum sponsor for the Culinary Challenge.
