Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has ordered the evacuation of its labour quarters to develop a major complex in the land plot.
In a notice to the MPL employees residing in the Labour Quarters, MPL ordered the tenants to evacuate before next Saturday. The notice warned that any who remain after the allocated period will be evicted.
MPL’s CEO Mohamed Junaid told Mihaaru that a large complex will be constructed in the plot which measures 10,000 square feet.
“We’re working on its design right now. We plan to mostly include offices and accommodation in the building,” he said.
Remarking on the numbers of MPL owned buildings with the potential for high profit that remain neglected, Junaid assured that the company is working to earn the highest possible profit from such structures.
