The Maldives kicked off its largest international fair, the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives (FHAM), on Tuesday.
FHAM opened in Dharubaaruge convention centre in capital Male with over 500 participants and will continue until coming Thursday. The fair also features the International Culinary Challenge and Exhibition, and Housekeepers Challenge.
Speaking after the inauguration, Minister of Economic Affairs Mohamed Saeed highlighted the key role the fair plays in expanding the Maldivian economy and market to the outside world.
“This is a key event which helps to establish networks between companies. While it facilitates opportunities for foreign firms in the Maldives, more chances are also opened for local businesses,” he said.
The highly popular International Culinary Challenge and Exhibition of FHAM is organised jointly by the Chef Guild of Maldives and Chef Guild of Sri Lanka.
The main sponsor of FHAM 2017 is Lily International and Mihaaru is its online media partner.
