Local telecom giant Dhiraagu recorded a net profit of MVR 209 million in the second quarter of this year.
Dhiraagu’s statistics show that the company earned a revenue of MVR 626.4 million during the second quarter.
According to Dhiraagu’s financial report, the total revenue had dropped in the last quarter due to a decrease in roaming services. The company attributed this loss to the recent drop in tourism. However, the revenue is higher than that of last year.
Dhiraagu’s revenue in the first quarter of this year was MVR 643.8 million with a net profit of MVR 286 million.
The company distributed MVR 642 million from the profit it made in 2016 as dividend.
Statistics show that Dhiraagu spent MVR 301 million as operating costs in the second quarter and paid MVR 37.2 million in taxes.
Dhiraagu had distributed MVR 2.75 per share as dividend in the last quarter.
