BML, American Express launch Maldives tourism promotion campaign

Bank of Maldives Ltd (BML) in collaboration with American Express launched a campaign late Tuesday to promote the Maldives as a top international tourist destination.

The “Experience Maldives” campaign was inaugurated by Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer at a ceremony held at Hotel Jen on Tuesday night.

According to BML, the campaign will promote the Maldives in American Express’ international client network. The campaign is endorsed by the tourism ministry and Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI).

BML stated that over 20 resorts in the Maldives are currently participating in the campaign, offering special offers to lure more tourists to the archipelago.

The bank’s CEO Andrew Healy declared that the campaign will spread the Maldives brand to all corners of the world. Expressing joy for the honour to team up with American Express, CEO Healy thanked Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer for his support and stated that BML will continue to work to advance the country’s tourism sector in partnership with the tourism ministry, MATI and all other bodies of the industry.

Meanwhile, American Express Banking Corporation’s Senior Vice President Manoj Adlakha expressed confidence that the campaign will bring in American Express card users from all over the globe to the Maldives, thus upping the nation’s economy.
